Hard drive errors on one of two profiles?

I have a weird issue.. i have windows vista.. i have two profiles... one profile is giving me all kinds of hard drive errors like "boot sector of hard disk is damaged" ; "39% of hdd space is unreadable"; "windows cant find hard disk space".; "Hard disk doesn't respond to system commands" ; "ram usage is critically high" ; "damaged hard drive clusters"...also there is no background image.. screen is black.. then when i log off of that profile and go to my other one.. its perfectly fine.. i would think if the hard drive is totally damaged why would the other profile not have and issues and no errors pop up.. also when im on the other profile, where i get all the hard drive errors, i hear a whirling noise..
